Vayan con dios

A relic of transport infrastructure in the Baton Rouge area will disappear from the earth come Wednesday.

The original US 190 crossing of the Amite River, completed 1927, converted to WB only traffic ca. 1955 or whereabouts:

(Image courtesy B(l)ing maps - north is at top, the bridge in question is the metal structure)

The bridge crossing here, a vital commuter link between EBR and Livingston Parishes, is being replaced with a modern concrete span, of which its blandness and absence of old wooden railings per the current bridge will be mitigated by its safer design.

1927-2009 - rest in pieces, old friend.

Speaking of exits...

In related news, Slick Eddie Price, mayor of Mandeville, has acknowledged the inevitable. Darkangel should be very happy about this ;-)

One down, one to go.

You lie!

But then they all do.

Even those who call out lying liars who wear the purple, heroically and in the face of what the power elite terms "executive deference", are themselves liars so far as they belong to one of the most dishonest institutions on earth - the United States Congress.

It is the supreme example of the pot calling the kettle black.

What does Senator "Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them" Stuart Smalley think of all this? Where be his voice (among others) rising in opposition to the dishonest proclamations of our charlatan, sociopathic God-Leader?

But it is a God-Leader in which they can approve, and for that Team Blue is content. Never mind that despite the supreme ignorance of the previous Leader, this Leader seems hell bent to outdo each and every one of his predecessors in the nation destroying business.

It is also apparent, in all this frenzy, that even a Congressman cannot state the obvious and call out the emperor for having no clothes without bringing upon himself the full fury of the power elite.

Guess free speech is dead after all. Imagine if a mere mortal such as you or I were to fall into the same predicament. The park bench would be serving as our night time repose.

In the end, despite whatever effect this incident has for free speech (incivility my ass - we need more foul mouthed protestations and them some in Parasite City), it is apparent that lost in the shuffle is that burning issue which our overlords would rather have us conveniently forget.

The truth. And that it matters.

And the truth is this: The State, its corporate benefactors, and all its actors, is death. And the only solution is to string them all up onto a burning stake, and then we will have our country back.

The king is dead

On this very morbid day, many celebrity bodies dropped, notably that of the King of Pop and Perversion who now lies dead in his perfidy. Like his predecessor in that office, Elvis, his passing created a great hullabaloo. In due time we will likely see conspiracy theorists, claims that "he's alive" and cheap Las Vegas impersonations, no doubt.

Almost makes me feel sorry for poor Farrah Fawcett, whose legitimate suffering and bravery in the face of terminal cancer (which I know something about, my dear departed grandparents succumbing to the same disease) has been regrettably overshadowed by this bloated, gleaming, shiny celebrity death by the dark hands of drugs, gluttony, and perversion.

It is always sad to see real talent squandered for the glory of the present. With MJ's debts to the tune of hundreds of millions, it remains to be seen whether there is even one red cent left for his children to inherit, the entire fortune frittered on luxury and trysts with little boys.

I am guessing his cause of death was either cardiac arrest caused by excessive drug ingestion, or his face finally fell off. The coroner's inquest shall enlighten us presently.

--

Another Rethuglikan has fallen as Mark Sanford, SC governor, has regrettably dashed my slight hopes for him and turned out to be a turncoat perverted adulterer like all the other occupants of the executive suite. Like his predecessor in fornication, our 42nd Dictator, he has disgraced his office and his family, all to satisfy some evident mid-life emotional obsession with some Argentinian dickheadess.

While the man appears to possess a conscience, the fact makes it worse, as he was totally aware and understanding of what he was doing, and chose to proceed anyway.

Another resignation should be forthcoming, as the moral law demands. If a man should lie to his family, he shall lie to those in his trust.

Like shooting ducks in a pond

This is such an obvious target that it begs astute commentary.

Governor Blagojevich of Illinois has been arrested - arrested! - on corruption charges. The feds have him openly stating intent to sell the open Senate seat (formerly occupied by B.O.) to the highest bidder because he "wants to make money."

Well give him credit, folks. Here is an honest politician, for once.

From all I read on this bastard, he seems to be the sort of pathological narcissist that I often rant about on these pages here. It seems no surprise that this sort of fate should come about for him. This is brazen political corruption in a 1930s sort of way. Actually kind of refreshing, to cut through the subterfuge of a later, slicker age. Guess the Depression is going to be relived in more ways than one.

Ah, Illinois politics. And you thought Louisiana was last in everything - well, guess again. This makes me sleep better at night knowing that I reside amongst (relative) angels.

Remember, folks, B.O. stepped from this milieu to the national stage. And you imbeciles just elected him President. Way to go.

He claims to know nothing about the shenanigans to sell the Senate seat. Riiiight...and I'm Jesus Christ.

I told you once before, and I'll say it again: Chicago politics is coming to the White House.

If this kind of shit happens while merely trying to nominate B.O.'s successor, imagine the fun yet to come. We're talking corruption city.

You heard it here first - B.O. will not complete his first term. There is no possible way. In two or three years he will be compelled to resign his office, due to a combination of policy failure and too many Obama family and friends' hands in the government till.

And you thought your long national nightmare was over. Folks, it's just beginning.

Time for change, anyone?

Adios, Kwame

(Taking time from the struggle for survival...)

How can I reflect on this properly?

Adios! Sayonara! Au revoir! Vaya con dios! Ciao! Hasta la vista! So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night!

Don't let the door hit your extra wide ass on the way out.

Oh, and remember not to drop the soap while you're in prison, cuz we all know what happens when that occurs.

08 August 2008

Monkey brains

Along with Kwame on the back burner, yet another predictable political scandal brews now on the front burner with the exposure of John "Egocentric and Narcissistic" (bloody well right!) Edwards' hidden mistress and possible love child.

(Cue the eponymous Supremes song now.)

Just another reason why I sit in amazement while we entrust our Republic to these clowns and assholes. Instead of letting the righteous bubble to the top as would occur naturally in a free society, we willingly place ourselves under the rule of men who have no scruples, morals, shame, or restraint.

If they cannot restrain themselves in their personal lives, how can we trust them to demonstrate restraint in public affairs?

Another thing: It is sad today that of all publications, the National Enquirer is the only trustworthy news source around worthy of the name "the press."

07 August 2008

Locked up

"...they won't let me out...they won't let me out..."

That now means you, Kwame, after a judge ordered you to prison like the common thug you are after violating your parole.

And now more felony charges are coming your way. Oh fun.

Are you still in office? You tell me you haven't resigned yet??!?

Kwame implosion update

Here is the latest insult perpetuated by criminal felon mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick.

In this round, he assaults a sheriff's deputy who comes to serve a subpoena in his ongoing text message corruption case. Nice move, jungle brains.

Enough already! Resign, if you have any shred of character left!

Some comments on a dying age

So here is the political situation in our country today:

A certain long-time Senator from a Northern state has been experiencing health issues, and the State-worshiping media is cockling over his health concerns like fawning little angels. Please. This man is an integral part of the warfare-welfare state: he has supported our wars, supported our subsidy programs to big business and the underclass, supported the State and socialism at every turn; indeed he has been central to their creation, leading to his reputation as a major political player and astute lawmaker.

It can only be this way if you are to survive for as long as he has in DC.

In my opinion the sooner he is dead the better. Harsh, you say? Well in my opinion he should be tried for war crimes, convicted, and hanged by the neck until he is dead, such as what occurred to the top Nazis. (Along with the Leader and his cronies, of course, but that is another poast in itself.) He has supported the genocide in Mesopotamia explicitly by supporting the Leader in his 'war on terror', and implicitly by doing absolutely nothing to stop it, being in a position of power as he holds. Few have the power as a sitting Senator does to truly control what goes on in our lives. The fact that he neglects to exercise his power to stop the mass murder is telling.

In other news, a former member of the Leader's inner circle has published a tell all book which plainly states (as if we didn't know it already) that the Leader's enlightened rule is based on lies, obfuscations, and dishonesty. Besides the fact that it is very interesting that only now is he expressing moral qualms about what goes down in the Imperial palace ("Shocked, shocked!") now that he has left its employ, it is even more interesting how the Leader's cronies and flunkies more in lockstep, to a man, to bash the tome as a 'fiction' - while conveniently not denying any accusations therein. (Guess we wouldn't want to be setting ourselves us for future perjury charges or anything.)

Ya know it's hilarious. Virtually everyone knows that the present administration (and its predecessors) openly lies and spins to the Amerikan people. Yet no one does a damn thing about it. In the 1970s an executive had to resign no less because he was [allowed by the leadership class to be] caught in a big lie (ya don't really think the media goes after the big dogs on its own, eh?). Now executives with the power to end civilization lie to the people with impunity, and nary a peep is heard.

"When they came for the Jews...."

Of course executive lies are inevitable in any State system. The question is never whether there should be an executive with that kind of power, or even an executive at all, but whether the complete falsehoods uttered from the executive organ today are partly untrue or completely untrue. Like mystics of old we delve to divine the minutest details of the Leader's infrequent prognostications. Never mind that they bear no goddamn relation to reality.

And finally, the DemocRATS have finally decided upon their fall nominee for dictator, and in the choice between the communist white female and the communist Black man, the Black man has apparently prevailed - so sayeth the media talking heads who of course are the last word on everything. IMO this is a step backward for America. We had a most honorable and worthy candidate this year, and who did Amerika end up choosing in the end? A war criminal and a Marxist-Leninist.

Oh well, not like the current Leader can't be described as either of these things, so score one for consistency and staying the course! Hooray for democracy!

Vox populi

These are the results of my informal poll on whether Kwame Kilpatrick, embattled mayor of Detroit, should resign now that he has been indicted on perjury charges:

YES: 1
NO: 0

(Of course, I was the only one who voted, so the tallies are understandably low.)

The people have spoken! Vox populi, Kwame! And we certainly won't miss you, sexually or otherwise.

Fascist follies, aka Kwame and friends

The American empire is crumbling by the hour. In addition to the obvious signs - mortal stalemate and military quagmire in overseas parts which few if any Americans could identify on a map, a collapsing dollar, an economy about to slide into a lethal abyss which will make the Great Depression look like a mild downturn by comparison - the antics and high jinks of our exalted solons (which would be comical if not so serious an indictment of our attitudes toward whom we as a society deem fit to reward with high political office) give casual observers such as myself and others little confidence and comfort in the future of our society as it is presently constituted.

Consider the erstwhile mayor of that veritable kingdom of urban prairie and decay, Kwame Kilpatrick. Today comes the news that the well deserved indictment has descended down from on high for his role in covering up the illicit and shameful affair between himself (a married man) and his now-exiled chief of staff Christine Beatty, a cover-up which caused the wrongful termination of two police officers. With all hope it will end with these scions of reprehensibility paying for their perverse actions, literally - this entire affair has cost the hardworking taxpayers of Detroit over $8 million. An expensive price to 'have a thing going on', in the words of Billy Paul....

Why, you ask, do politicians always fall for this sort of stuff? With the monumental amount of illicit and licit enrichment opportunities at hand for the average public official in this era of the bloated welfare-warfare-hand over the goodies State, why do politicians always seem to go down in flames due to silliness such as this, survivable if they would only use a bit of common sense discretion?

The reality is that this goes beyond illicit carnal behavior, or even the petty and amazingly ignorant actions of one man with obvious mental and moral issues, who is anyhow soon to depart the theatrical stage that is American public life.

The fact of the matter is (with one known exception) that the average politician, much like the well heeled and powerful supporters he relies on for sustenance, believes himself to be a special sort of person, not bound by rules or other precepts (such as being faithful to your wife and mother of your children) which mere mortals have to contend with.

With great power comes great authority, and unfailingly it takes a certain sort of person to be drawn to such a position, with the power of life and death over other bodies. In psychology he is defined by the terms 'narcissist' and 'sociopath.'

In the worst cases where authority and power are greatest, he imagines himself a near godlike figure whose very will and whim should be construed as law. The "smallest" things bring out the greatest of personal hubris in that individual.

I believe I can think of at least one or two particular rulers within the last hundred years who sufficiently demonstrate what I am talking about. Again, with power comes authority, and with that comes the power to conceal any immorality, blackness of character, or human depravity in which the State supported and fattened power playa may wish to indulge.

The same impulse which drives fascism, social Darwinism, ghetto thuggery, and all other forms of strong man collectivism is that which has moved sociopaths throughout human history - a desire to forcibly take that which is others' and keep it for himself, despite this being clearly contrary to the natural law, and then justify the action by introducing the morality of 'might makes right.' The modern incarnation of this ancient strain of the banality of human nature is the modern State, where the civilized modern counterpart to the despots of antiquity practice theft and plunder but call it taxation, and instead of sacking cities make it all very convenient and painless for us, with pay deductions and harmless paperwork. Hooray for the State!

No wonder that from a moral standpoint, an outsider observing our modern 'civilized' society might be justifiably mistaken in believing that he is witnessing a pack of raving lunatics scraping for the last subsidy they can find, in order to stave off the abyss of death for one minute longer.

As a society we permit this type of anti-civilized activity to flourish, thanks to the comforting bosom of the almightly State and its military-industrial-ruling elite appendages and auxiliaries, which sustains and rewards this behavior. And thus it spreads, and moral dry rot grows to infect the entirety of the social body. This is the root of our present dilemma.
