Bad news

I've been seeing more of the 'photo negative' variety of state highway shields lately.

They are essentially like the existing shields except that they are white on a black background with black lettering (like this) as opposed to green on a white background with white lettering.

This means either that the state (or its contractors) is making more than the usual number of highway shield mistakes - or that the state intends to replace the old green and white lovelies with those ugly monochromatic pieces of crap.

NOOOO!!!
