Somber anniversary

Today is 28 December 2008, and this date marks a sad anniversary in the television annals.

Twenty-four years ago on this date, the legendary daytime crime and mystery serial The Edge of Night broadcast its 7,420th and last episode on the ABC television network, marking the end of twenty-eight years of murder, mystery, and mayhem.

Hard to believe it's been that long, that the time Edge has been off the air is nearly as long now as the length of time it aired.
